The Dover Uke Heads is a newly formed ukulele group that meets every Tuesday at the Hobo Music Store, more commonly known as the Robot Cafe, in Port Dover, Ontario. The group forms at 7 p.m. In our balmy summer months the location is moved outside to the gazebo in Powell Park, Port Dover. The group is convened by Peter Shebib and consists of over 40 members.
DUH welcomes newcomers at any time and any level of player. Ukuleles are available for purchase at the location. A beginner level group is convened by Dennis Murphy for those players with little or no musical background.
Over the course of the year, the group has put in a few public appearances; the Port Ryerse Church Bell Tower Fundraiser and the Port Dover Santa Claus Parade to name a few. They were GREAT FUN!! Pictures will be posted along with descriptions in the near future.
A few members of the group also decided to attend the 4th International Ukulele Ceilidh in October held in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. It was a memorable event worth recommending in the future.
We don’t know what the future will hold for us this year, but we are looking forward to getting out to more public appearances, recording more songs in video, and hosting some guest players.
