Rockabilly Star Ron Hargrave Plays Highschool Confidential on Ukulele

This VERY interesting Youtube video was sent in to us by Uke Head Susan. Ron Hargrave was discoverd by Lou Costello (of Abbott and Costello fame) while in war-time service.

Complete details of Hargrave’s background can be found at this website:

…Ron Hargrave is probaby best known as the writer of “High School Confidential”. Early in 1958, by way of his association with MGM Records, he was asked to write the title theme to the movie “High School Confidential” (starring Mamie van Doren, Russ Tamblyn, Jackie Coogan and others), which was being shot on the MGM studio lot… Jerry Lee Lewis was seen singing and playing the song from the back of a flatbed truck in one of the most famous opening credit sequences in movie history.
