Port Ryerse Church Picnic & Fish Fry

July 7th turned out to be a beautiful day, and hot, as per the last 2 weeks, in spite of a forecast of storm clouds, lightning and rain. I never saw anything but blue skies and sunshine!

The Uke Heads turned out to sing a few songs at Port Ryerse’s Memorial Church fundraiser for the church bell tower repairs. It looked like a nice, old fashioned church picnic, with the church lawn packed with brightly covered picnic tables, and we sang such goldies as Walkin’ My Baby Back Home, Anytime, and When You’re Smiling.

Knecktel’s of Port Dover catered the meal which was Lake Erie perch, potato chips and deep-fried mushrooms, cheese and beef. Salads, condiments and bread completed the meal, and it was one to remember! A street dance immediately followed the Fish Fry at 7.
