O Canada, We Play Our Ukes For Thee!

Blue skies prevailed

Blue skies prevailed

What a beautiful day was had in the small but popular town of Port Dover on Tuesday, July 1st! Despite weather reports warning rain and thunderstorms, luckily the beautiful blue skies and warm sun prevailed. The Port Dover Lions Club puts on an annual Canada Day Festival down at Silver Lake Park, beginning at 6 p.m. with the Kettle Corn booth and others setting up for the evening, entertainment from 7 p.m. til 10 p.m., finishing off with a fantastic fireworks display.

This year, the Dover Uke Heads were honoured to have been invited to play from 7 p.m. til 8 in the Pavillion. (We warmed the audience up for the Mushy Peez!) We had a real warm welcome from the club president and Mike Penton, one of the Lion’s Club organizers, and Gerrie’s husband Ron took all these pictures with my Fujifilm camera – thanks, Ron!
